We have found that by focusing on one spot in the room that anxiety starts to subside and we can feel more relaxed. The next step is to create something more tangible. We tried this exercise with a group of girls who were having an anxiety-filled day. We played a game in which the girls would have to remember something they had done in the past that they were anxious about. For example, they would have to remember that their friend said something mean at school.
