If you’re a track or stadium lighting designer, you’re going to be working with the lighting designer, and the designer has to come up with a solution to fit their project. One of the most challenging aspects of any lighting design project is the lighting designer’s ability to communicate with their client.
One of the most common solutions is what we call “bronze track lighting.” This is a special lighting technique that uses a single, large, silver track to cover a large area of a stage. You can think of it as a large, high-output lighting fixture that is suspended above the stage.
Some clients may be okay with one track, but in general, we’d recommend a mix of two, three or four tracks. You might think that the light from a single track would be too bright, but a large silver track can easily fill the entire area with light. The problem is that the silver track could block other lights. The solution is to build a second track that reflects some of the light from the first track.
So what does this have to do with the track lighting? Well, many places in the production design industry use bronze track lighting, which is a high-output lighting fixture that is suspended above the stage. The client likes this style because it doesn’t look as bright and can be a bit smaller. What works for one client might not work for another.
The problem is that the silver track is a single track and we dont want to put it on a second track, so we built a second track that reflects from the first track. This way we don’t have to worry about the silver track interfering with other lights in the production design industry, and we also dont have to worry about the second track blocking other lights.
This is the kind of lighting that is a pain to shoot and post, and I feel like its time was a bit of a waste. But I guess we can do what we want.
The bronze track lighting is probably the most popular track lighting you can buy. Its also the kind of lighting that is so popular that it has a lot of other options. You can use it to light a backlot or a basketball court, it can light a car, it can light a house, it can throw a shadow over a picture, it can light a window, and it can even be used for a lot more.
